Vision
The WSYAI was founded on the belief that with proper attention and intention we can provide young people who lack basic support systems with the tools they need to live as productive members of society. We believe the arts provide a vehicle for these youth to get in touch with their own voices, strengths and desires. By providing them with a stipend and professional mentors, and opportunities to express themselves and be listened to, we can reclaim these young people to become engaged citizens who make positive contributions to the future of the community at large. Our youth have information needed by organizations and individuals to be more effective providers, and more just citizens.
